Charity giving

Supporting a wide range of charities, both locally and internationally, is an important aspect of a Rotary Club’s work.   In total we have raised over £440,000 and in the five years to end June 2019 we raised just over £166,000.

Christmas is a key fund raising time for us. Here is our major fund raising from Christmas 2018 to October 2019 (all numbers rounded):

  • Xmas tin rattling – £2,900
  • Christmas Float – £6,900
  • Spring Fashion Show – £900
  • Duck Race and Family Fun Day – £14,500
  • Ed’s Hair Birthday Party – £1,200
  • Scarecrow Festival – £2,000

Many thanks to eveyone who has contributed in any way to the above – it all goes to good causes, for example (In Rotary year July 2018- June 2019):

  • Together Trust £6,000
  • Beechwood Cancer Care £6,000
  • Swanbourne Gardens £2,500
  • End Polio Now £2,000
  • Lee’s Sunshine Fund £2,000
  • Lend with Care £1,500
  • Hearing Dogs £1,500
  • Bramhall High School Borneo Trip £1,500
  • DEBRA £1,200
  • Kerala Floods £1,000
  • Disaster Aid International £1,000
  • Cyclone Idai appeal £1,000
  • 31 other donations under £1,000

That amounts to £40,000 of which 17% was for Overseas and 83% for here in the UK, much of which is local to us in the North West.
